چکیده

Fast, large-amplitude pulses are encountered in-the nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP), lightning, various pulse-power machinery, and charged particle ke~ms. In the context of the EMP program various accurate, broad-band senrs have been developed. The principal types of these sensors have been ..signedto measure electric and magnetic fields, current densities, currents, and voltages. Often it is the time-derivative waveforms that are measured for good accuracy. These sensors are now being applied to the measurement of the fast-transient electromagnetic properties of lightning. The general design concepts and techniques for such sensors are alSO appliCc?ble in various pulse power ~chines, where one may wish to ~~sUre VariOUS impulsivecurrents and voltages. Development and Application of Integrated Optical Sensors for Intense E-Field Measurement

The measurement of intense E-fields is a fundamental need in various research areas. Integrated optical E-field sensors (IOESs) have important advantages and are potentially suitable for intense E-field detection. This paper comprehensively reviews the development and applications of several types of IOESs over the last 30 years, including the Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI), coupler interfer...

Intense THz pulses down-regulate genes associated with skin cancer and psoriasis: a new therapeutic avenue?

Terahertz (THz) radiation lies between the infrared and microwave regions of the electromagnetic spectrum and is non-ionizing. We show that exposure of artificial human skin tissue to intense, picosecond-duration THz pulses affects expression levels of numerous genes associated with non-melanoma skin cancers, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. Genes affected by intense THz pulses include nearly h...

Effects of intense laser pulse properties on wake field acceleration in magnetized plasma: Half-Sine Shape (HSS) and Gaussian Shape (GS) pulses

In this paper, we have simulated the excitation of wake fields in the interaction of an intensive laser pulses having Half-Sine and Gaussian time envelopes with a fully ionized cold plasma using particle in cell (PIC) method. We investigated the dependency of wake filed amplitude to different laser and plasma parameters such as laser wavelength, pulse duration and electron number density. In ad...

0 6 Nonlinear propagation of broadband intense electromagnetic waves in an electron – positron plasma

A kinetic equation describing the nonlinear evolution of intense electromagnetic pulses in electron–positron (e-p) plasmas is presented. The modulational instability is analyzed for a relativistically intense partially coherent pulse, and it is found that the modulational instability is inhibited by the spectral pulse broadening. A numerical study for the one-dimensional kinetic photon equation...

معرفی روش تطبیقی اصلاح شده برای اندازه‌گیری دقیق ولتاژ در مبدل ولتاژ نوری

There are fewer problems encountered with optical voltage transducers in comparison with their inductive and capacitive counterparts. Although capacitive and inductive transformers are used vastly for the purpose of measurement and protection in the networks, they cause problems such as core saturation and improper transient responses which decrease the accuracy of measurement and eficiency of ...
